DPRK Magic Stars
Pyongyang, June 22 (KCNA) -- Among magicians of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea are Kim Thaek Song and his two sons, Kim Chol and Kim Kwang Chol.

Kim Thaek Song works as head of jugglery department at Pyongyang Acrobatic School, Kim Chol head of the Jugglery Creative Group and Kim Kwang Chol jugglery director at Pyongyang Circus. All of them are winners of Kim Il Sung Prize and People's Artistes.

Born in Jagang Province, Kim Thaek Song started his career as a magician in the workers' art group at a factory.

Under the deep care of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il, he rose to fame at home and abroad for his high-level artistic skill.

He proved successful at various international magic festivals, including the 9th World Magic Festival in 1972.

He was awarded the title of magic king twice, one in the 16th international modern magic festival and the other in the year 1985.

Kim Chol, his first son, won a top prize and a trophy in the 19th International Modern Magic Festival. His works "Girls Reflected in Mirror" and "Bountiful Catfish" have enjoyed great popularity.

His second son, Kim Kwang Chol, is also famous for his special magic talents. He won the title in the 20th International Modern Magic Festival.

The three made a big contribution to creating a large-scale magic performance given successfully at May Day Stadium in Pyongyang last year.
