Rana Ornativentris Bred in DPRK
Pyongyang, June 19 (KCNA) -- Rana ornativentris is bred in different areas of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

In this regard, KCNA met Jang Sung Nam, a section chief of the Unphasan Trading Company.

Q: Medicines manufactured with Rana ornativentris drew deep attention at the 15th Pyongyang Spring International Trade Fair held in May last.

Would you like to tell me about the breeding of it?

A: With many valleys and streams, the country boasts of favorable conditions to breed Rana ornativentris.

This kind of frog inhabits in Mt. Oga in Jagang Province and deep valleys of South Hamgyong, Kangwon, North Hwanghae, North and South Phyongan provinces.

Half-artificial breeding has been under way in those mountains. Recently a technology of breeding it in an industrial way was introduced on the basis of insect feed and the seed problem settled, making it possible to breed it urban areas, too.

Q: Rana ornativentris is believed to be good material of medicine and health food. Can you tell me about it?

A: Rana ornativentris helps activate people's physical energy, promote lung activities and recover fatigue and wounds.

Q: Please tell me about the future of its breeding?

A: It is important to breed good seed accustomed to climatic and soil conditions. Feed is also crucial to breeding it.

Besides, breeding grounds should be built to suit the physiological features of Rana ornativentris and strict measures taken to prevent it from being affected by epidemics and natural enemies.

More than a hundred of thousands of Rana ornativentrises can be bred with less manpower. It takes only seven months to fully breed them.
