Health Food Made of Skim Bean Popular among People
Pyongyang, June 16 (KCNA) -- Dishes made of skim bean in boiling water is popular among local people in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

Song Song Ik, an employee at Ponghwasan Hotel, told KCNA:

"Those dishes are much higher than rice, beef and pollack in protein and fat content. Atoxic, they enhance immunity function.

With such functional substances as vitamin, minerals and lecithin, the bean dishes help prevent diabetes, fatty liver, hyperlipemia and arteriosclerosis.

Their digestion rate is more than 97 percent.

Dozens of dishes, including noodle and bread, can be made with skim bean.

In particular, nutritive skim bean flour is efficacious for recovery of fatigue.

Those dishes are highly acclaimed by foreigners, too, for their medical effect and good flavor.

Kye Jong Ok, a woman living in Moranbong District, Pyongyang, said:

"Noodle made of bean is little different to buckwheat noodle. I feel relieved from fatness since I began taking skim bean normally.

Now I can swim for minutes."

Kim Yong Suk, a woman living in Othan-dong, Central District, Pyongyang, said:

"My blood sugar returned to normal after I took skim bean for six months. Now I feel better."
