Short-neck Clam Cultivation in DPRK
Pyongyang, June 15 (KCNA) -- A fresh success has been made in seaside short-neck clam cultivation in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

A technology of breeding seed clams was introduced on tidelands on the west coast of the country.

Dr. Ri Hae, deputy director of the Branch Academy of Fishery, told KCNA:

"We succeeded in artificially spawning spats, one of the processes for short-neck clam cultivation. The seed clams are cultivated in open-air ponds and seaside breeding grounds.

We have also built the process of mass-producing sea algae to solve the problem of food for short-neck clams."
