Memorial Service for Two Slain Schoolgirls Held in Seoul
Pyongyang, June 15 (KCNA) -- A memorial service for Sin Hyo Sun and Sim Mi Son who were mercilessly killed by an armored car of U.S. forces in south Korea ten years ago was held before the "Taehan Gate" of the Deogsu Palace in Seoul on Tuesday.

Speakers at the service said that still burning are the candlelights held high to condemn the GIs who killed the two schoolgirls on a roadside on June 13, 2002.

The GI criminals are still at large on the strength of the unequal south Korea-U.S. "Status of Forces Agreement" (SOFA), they deplored.

They accused the conservative media of floating misinformation that "progressive forces are using the memorial service for Hyo Sun and Mi Son for their political purpose" and working hard to bar civic and social organizations of different circles from holding memorial services.

They declared that they would stage dynamic actions to prevent south Koreans from facing the same tragic fate as Hyo Sun and Mi Son did and enable the people to live as human beings with legitimate rights.

A similar event took place on the scene of the killing of them in Hyo Chon-ri, Kwangjok-myon, Yangju city, Kyonggi Province on Wednesday in demand of the revision of the unequal SOFA, the withdrawal of U.S. forces from south Korea, etc.
