June 15 Joint Declaration Vital to Korea's Peace, Reunification
Pyongyang, June 14 (KCNA) -- The June 15 Joint Declaration, adopted at the historic inter-Korean summit in June Juche 89 (2000), set forth the principle to achieve Korea's reunification by the nation itself. The adoption provided a new milestone in realizing the national reunification, the cherished desire of all Koreans.

But, the Lee Myung Bak group of traitors in south Korea has stood against the joint declaration, persisting in anti-DPRK policy, since it came to power.

Mad with inter-Korean confrontation, the group has said that "the north should not be considered the same nation to be in the same boat but a rival to stand against." Defining the DPRK as a "principal enemy", it worked out a "basic program for unification education" and a "guideline for unification education" to incite distrust and antagonism between the north and the south, and distributed to south Korean children comic books critical of the DPRK.

Meanwhile, the group is talking about "contingency" and "unification tax" in a foolish attempt for "unification under the liberal democratic system".

It even desecrated the nation's mourning over the great loss while launching military exercises against the DPRK gripped by deep sorrow at the demise of its leader. It went the lengths of hurting the dignity of the supreme leadership of the DPRK.

After totally negating dialogue and cooperation between the north and the south, the Lee group of traitors has turned the Korean Peninsula into the world's most volatile region in league with the U.S. It deserves to be punished for such hideous crimes.

The history clearly proves that to implement the June 15 Joint Declaration is the only way for deterring a war and achieving peace and reunification in the Korean Peninsula.
