Anniversary of June Uprising in S. Korea Marked: Rodong Sinmun
Pyongyang, June 11 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Monday runs a bylined article in connection with the lapse of 25 years since the June popular uprising in south Korea.

The uprising was a massive anti- U.S., anti-fascist struggle of the south Korean people to put an end to outside forces' colonial domination and the south Korean military fascist gangsters' dictatorial rule, the article says, and goes on:

The uprising proved once again the historical truth that the struggle for independence, democracy and genuine life is a just patriotic one and the indomitable struggle of the popular masses to achieve them is sure to emerge victorious.

Much water has flown under the bridge since the uprising, but the desire of the south Korean people for independence, democracy and reunification has not come true.

The Lee Myung Bak group of traitors trampled down upon even the elementary successes gained by the south Korean people in their bloody struggle for democratization, bringing society back to that in the past era of dictatorship.

The Lee group obsessed with extreme hostility and ambition for achieving "the unification of social systems" drove the once favorably developed north-south relations into an uncontrollable catastrophe.

The prevailing situation goes to clearly prove that the south Korean people can hardly survive, much less achieving independence, democracy and the reunification of the country unless the Lee conservative group is thrown overboard.

All Koreans in the north, south and overseas should wage a more dynamic patriotic struggle for independent reunification, peace and prosperity under the banner of "By the Korean nation itself".
