Korea Likely to Experience Much Rainfall in July, August
Pyongyang, June 9 (KCNA) -- Rainy season is expected to begin in early July this year in Korea, while heavy rains, including downpour, are likely to hit the western coastal area and central and southern areas on the east coast between mid-July and mid-August, a local weather expert said.

Pang Sun Nyo, department head of the Hydro-meteorological Service, told KCNA:

"Lingering drought persists in June, too, but July-August will witness heavy rainfall.

The seasonal wind weakened in East Asia will return to normal in July and August, with high pressure from the northwest Pacific affecting Korea.

Snatchy chill will come to the northern and southern areas on the east coast in June and July-August period respectively."
