S. Korea's Unpopular Educational Policy Slammed
Pyongyang, June 9 (KCNA) -- The Teachers' Trade Unions of south Korea staged an action against the unpopular educational policy of the "government" authorities on June 6.

The organization accused the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology of enforcing the law on primary and secondary education the keynote of which is to amalgamate and close small schools.

This is little short of barring the rural and fishing villages from neither bringing up children nor letting them live, the organization deplored, denouncing the authorities for such market-almighty policy and dictatorial act of disregarding the education of children, crying out for economic efficiency.

The step of the "government" to forcibly close schools without any agreement with people would entail a serious collapse of rural and fishing villages, it warned.

It urged the authorities to roll back the unpopular educational policy and enact a special law on education of the children in the rural and fishing villages.
