Talks between Delegations of WPK and LPRP Held
Pyongyang, June 8 (KCNA) -- Talks between the delegations of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) took place in Vientiane on Thursday.

Present at the talks from the DPRK side were members of the WPK delegation led by Kim Yong Il, alternate member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the C.C., the WPK, and DPRK Ambassador to Laos Han Pong Ho and from the Lao side Vice Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Thongloun Sisoulith, member of the Political Bureau of the C.C., the LPRP who is also chairman of its Committee for External Affairs, Sounthon Sayachak, member of the C.C., the LPRP who is also the vice-chairman of its Committee for External Affairs and vice-minister of Foreign Affairs of Laos, and others.

At the talks the two sides informed each other of their party activities and exchanged views on the issue of developing the friendly and cooperative relations between the two parties and on matters of mutual concern.

Thongloun Sisoulith extended warm congratulations to Kim Jong Un upon his election as first secretary of the WPK and first chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission.

He noted with pleasure that the WPK and the Korean people have made great achievements in the defence of the country and in the work for the building of a thriving socialist nation and improving the people's living standard.

He fully supported the WPK and the Korean people in their struggle to build a thriving socialist nation and achieve the peaceful reunification of the country under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Un.

The LPRP is attaching great importance to the exchange and cooperation with the WPK, he said, expressing his will to joint actions in the international arena.

The talks proceeded in a comradely and friendly atmosphere.
