Return of Remains of Korean Draftees Demanded
Pyongyang, June 5 (KCNA) -- Internet radio Voice of People in south Korea on June 1 urged the "government" authorities to take measures to get back the remains of Koreans who had been drafted to Japan for forced labor during the period of the military occupation by the Japanese imperialists in the past.

The radio said the "government" does not know how many and where the Korean draftees were buried in Japan.

It went on:

The Japanese authorities are trying to evade the responsibility, asserting that those Koreans had not been forcibly drafted to Japan but voluntarily gone to Japan. What is more shocking is that the Lee Myung Bak regime has not taken any measure for the victims.

The committee for investigating damage done by Japan through forcible mobilization during the period of resistance against Japan and supporting victims of forcible mobilization abroad, etc. which was organized during the preceding regime for the repatriation of remains, is in danger of disappearance as the term of its activities has not been extended.
