Anniversary of Victorious Pochonbo Battle Observed by Nigerian Organization
Pyongyang, June 3 (KCNA) -- The Nigerian National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea posted an article "Flames over Pochonbo" on its Internet homepage on May 23.

The article said the victorious battle in Pochonbo was commanded by President Kim Il Sung on June 4, 1937 and foreign media at that time spotlighted the news of the battle.

The article said:

Korean guerillas dealt a heavy blow at the Japanese imperialists in a border town of a small colonial nation in the East at that time, stunning and exciting the world.

The flames over Pochonbo heralded the dawn of the national resurrection as they imbued the Korean people with conviction that Korea is not dead but alive and can achieve its liberation without fail if it fights against the Japanese imperialists.

The Korean people were firmly convinced that Kim Il Sung would liberate the country, holding him in high esteem as the sun of nation and leader of national resurrection.

The flames over Pochonbo powerfully demonstrated at home and abroad the will of the Korean revolutionaries to pioneer and advance the revolution with arms.

Leader Kim Jong Il pursued Songun politics in all fabrics of social life by carrying forward the President's Songun idea and cause and firmly defended socialist Korea from the frantic offensive of the imperialists' allied forces to stifle the DPRK late in the last century. He, at the same time, ushered in a new era of building a thriving socialist nation.

The Songun revolutionary cause of the DPRK is being steadfastly carried forward by the dear respected Kim Jong Un.
