Selection of KCU Delegates Made as Great Event
Pyongyang, May 29 (KCNA) -- The whole country is alive with the selection of delegates to the celebrations of the 66th anniversary of the Korean Children's Union (KCU). This is regarded as a great event as children of ordinary working people from unknown villages, remote mountain villages and island villages are chosen as delegates of the KCU to those events.

Pak Chang Hae, second-year student of Hongui Secondary School in Rason City who is vice-chairman of the KCU organization of the school, was selected as a delegate to the celebrations, deeply moving people.

His parents are cripples. Upon hearing the news, they shed tears of emotion, saying words fail to express gratitude for the great happiness bestowed upon their child though they have long received boundless loving care.

Not only officials of a rural village but villagers visited the child's house to sincerely congratulate them.

Old man Ja Ul Gun aged more than 70 in this place said that the country is, indeed, a good society. Although the child's parents are crippled, the country brought up their child without discrimination and brought him such honor of being a delegate to such big event, he noted, adding that this can happen only in the country blessed with the illustrious leaders.

Four children of Sokju and Sogang branch schools of the Osu Secondary School in Junggang County, Jagang Province, were also chosen as delegates to the celebrations of the KCU. They are children of farmers and pensioners. The whole village and branch schools are in a festive mood as this thing is hardly imaginable in the capitalist society.

Parents and inhabitants of the Munam Branch School of Hwanggok Primary School in Myongchon County, North Hamgyong Province, the Iljabong Branch School of Kaeunsong Secondary School in Samsu County, Ryanggang Province and Oyu Secondary School in Popdong County, Kangwon Province in deep mountain villages were excited to hear that children of ordinary workers and farmers got an opportunity to go to Pyongyang under the loving care of the dear respected Kim Jong Un.

Inhabitants of villages on the island were greatly pleased to hear that children of workers and soldier families in the Sindo Branch School of Namhae Secondary School and the Pukdan and Namdan Branch Schools of Sagok Secondary School of Ongjin County, South Hwanghae Province in the southwestern tip of the country have got a chance to visit Pyongyang.

Kim Myong Gwang, delegate to the celebrations from Koryo Secondary School, and Han Yun Sim, delegate from Koryo Primary School in Kaesong City, lost their parents in the period of the Arduous March, the forced march. They said in an excited tone: We are no longer orphans. Our father is the dear respected Kim Jong Un and our house is the Workers' Party of Korea. We will grow up fast and become soldiers devotedly defending the party and the country.
