Rodong Sinmun Blasts US Intention to Sell Pursuit Fighters to S. Korea
Pyongyang, May 28 (KCNA) -- The Lee Myung Bak group of south Korea announced a plan to purchase new type pursuit fighters some days ago.

Munitions enterprises of the U.S. and Europe including Boeing and Lockheed Martin are vying with each other to sell the above-said fighters to south Korea. The 60 aircraft reportedly placed on order are ultramodern military hardware.

Rodong Sinmun Monday observes in a bylined commentary in this regard:

What should not go unnoticed is the deal in the above-said fighters between war merchants of the West and south Korea.

The U.S. massive shipment of cutting-edge military hardware to south Korea through war merchants is to implement its Asia-Pacific policy, the commentary notes, and goes on:

The U.S. strategic scenario which made Asia-Pacific the focus of its foreign policy is to deter other powers from expanding their influence on this region and hold supremacy there.

It is the calculation of the U.S. to put the newly emerging Asia-Pacific under its control and realize its wild ambition to dominate the whole world.

The DPRK is made the primary target of the U.S. strategy for dominating the Asia-Pacific region.

The U.S. war-like forces are arming their south Korean puppet forces with ultramodern military hardware, crying out for coping with the non-existent "threat" from the DPRK.

In case a war breaks out on the Korean Peninsula, no one can guess its consequences.

And it is the fact recognized by everybody that the DPRK is not the only target of the U.S. strikes.

It is beyond any doubt that such U.S. action as equipping its forces in south Korea and the south Korean puppet army with ultramodern military hardware would rattle the nerves of the powers around south Korea and spark off a new arms race and eventually lead to upsetting the military strategic equilibrium and disturbing stability in the region.

Asia-Pacific can never turn into a zone of peace as long as the U.S. and its allies warmongers are allowed to go on wild.
