Afforestation Brisk in DPRK
Pyongyang, May 18 (KCNA) -- "Let us landscape our own village on our own hand!"--this is what the Korean people have maintained in greening the country.

Pyongyang citizens are now directing efforts to planting and cultivating turfs and other plants on roadsides and green belts.

Various species of flowers are in full bloom along streets, with escalated flower cultivation.

The Central Tree Nursery is supplying good species of saplings to provinces, cities and counties across the country.

Rotary sprayers have been introduced in local tree nurseries.

Revolutionary sites, parks and pleasure grounds have been forested with zelkova, gingko, larch, acacia and other species of trees.

Schoolchildren work hard to create youth and children's union forests.

Jon Chol Su, deputy department director of the Ministry of Land Environmental Conservation, told KCNA that the country would be landscaped sooner or later by the devoted efforts of all the people, encouraged by General Secretary Kim Jong Il's patriotism.
