Appearance of North Hwanghae Province Has Changed Beyond Recognition
Pyongyang, May 17 (KCNA) -- The appearance of the cities and counties of North Hwanghae Province has changed beyond recognition.

Over 2,100 trees of good species were planted along the roadsides of Sariwon in the province to replace the old ones.

Its citizens built flowerpot stands and flower beds of thousands of square meters in over 70 places in streets.

They, at the same time, planted more than 50,000 flower trees, creating diverse greenery.

Their drive for improving the river bank resulted in removing over 12,000 cubic meters of soil and dredging the river bottom extending 5km, making it possible to prevent the city from flood damage in the rainy season.

Under its plan to technically improve roads Yonthan County widened them and rebuilt stones.

Pongsan County did more than 60,000 cubic meters of earth work and reinforced the dyke of Kuyon Stream with 4,000 square meters of stones so that it may not suffer from any flood.

Suan County built a bridge to improve the traffic.
