Stop to Import of American Beef Called for in S. Korea
Pyongyang, May 11 (KCNA) -- The People's Joint Conference for Observing Danger of Mad Cow Disease in south Korea at a press conference on May 8 urged the puppet authorities to immediately stop the import of American beef.

The organization in a press release accused the "government" of dispatching an investigation group made up of its confidants, not experts, to the U.S.

The dispatch of the group was proved to be a face-saving step during its investigation activities in the U.S., it said.

The group, invested with no substantial right, failed to tour the spot where the mad cow disease occurred, it noted, deploring the fact that the group was denied an interview with the farm owner and only had a written contact even though he was in a next room.

Nevertheless, the "government" is insulting the people, claiming that American beef has no problem, danger is in control and it is safe to take the beef as food, it said.

It demanded the "government" stop at once American beef import, refraining from befooling the public through dispatch of investigation group which is no more than visitors' group or tourists' group.

If the American beef is imported, the regime would face the same powerful candlelight actions of the people from all walks of life as in 2008, the organization warned.
