Present there were Kim Ki Nam, secretary of the C.C., the Workers' Party of Korea, Kim In Sik, vice premier and chairman of Capital City Construction Commission, Kim Sok Jun, minister of State Construction Control, Tong Jong Ho, minister of Construction and Building Materials Industry, Kim Chang Ryong, minister of Land and Environmental Conservation, Hwang Hak Won, minister of Urban Management, officials concerned, officials in the fields of architecture building and building materials, designers, technicians, teachers, researchers and creators.

The floor was taken by Kim Sok Jun, minister of State Construction Control who doubles as chairman of the C.C., the Union of Architects of Korea, Pae Tong Il, president of the Pyongyang University of Construction and Building-Materials Industry who doubles as vice-chairman of the C.C., the Union of Architects of Korea, and others.

Speakers at the symposium explained the originality of leader Kim Jong Il's idea and theory of architecture and the essential features of architectures praying for the immortality of the leader put forward by him.

The originality of Kim Jong Il's idea and theory of architecture lies in that they clarified the fact that the leadership of the leader is a decisive factor on which hinges the successful building of architectures in the socialist society, and newly formulated and systematized the major problems of architecture.

Their originality can also be found in that they newly solved the relations between architecture and human being, formulated the architectural theory centered on the popular masses, scientifically clarified the essential features of architecture and termed the work of architecture combined arts.

Kim Jong Il saw to it that Kim Il Sung was laid in state and supreme temple of Juche was spruced up, thus giving a steady continuity to the history of perpetuating the memory of the President on this land.

Thanks to the noble loyalty and moral obligation of the dear respected Kim Jong Un, statues of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and the portraits of smiling Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il were built and set up on Mansu Hill and at the Mansudae Art Studio and on Jangdaejae Hill and towers to their immortality were erected in different parts of the country.

It is the fundamental demand to build architecture socialist in content while suiting the specific local features, they said, calling for providing the people's conveniences and creating edifices of peculiar shapes.
