S. Korean Paper Accuses Japan of Trying to Cover Its Past Crimes
Pyongyang, May 9 (KCNA) -- The south Korean paper Kukmin Ilbo in an editorial said Japan attempted to hush up its past crimes with money only to face public disgrace.

Japan showed off its bulgy moneybag in its reckless attempt for the removal of a monument to the memory of the comfort women for the Imperial Japanese Army in New Jersey, U.S. only to disgrace itself in the world eyes, the editorial said, and went on:

Japan's consul general in New York visited the building of a city office in New Jersey where he said Japan would invest huge amount of money in return for the removal of the monument.

Disgusting, indeed, is the sordid behavior of the Japanese government to cover up the past crimes of Japan with money. Its attempt to remove the monument with the help of a foreign administrative authority is a clear proof that it does not have the feelings of repenting of its past crimes.

Japan thinks that it can change the history with money, a revelation of a low-level consciousness of an animal.

The Japanese authorities should immediately stop such a reckless attempt as trying to eclipse the sun with a palm, bearing in mind that the only best way for them is to make apology and reparation to the victims.

If Japan goes without reflection of history, the second and third monuments to the memory of the comfort women will continue to be built.
