The meeting was attended by the U.S. undersecretary of defense for policy and the counterpart of south Korea, whom can be called persons directly responsible for mapping out a war plan. At the meeting, the U.S. let loose a spate of rubbish like "serious warning against provocation and threat from the north", and worked out "common countermeasure".

Rodong Sinmun Wednesday says in a bylined commentary in this regard:

Through the military confab, the U.S. sought to abet confrontation with the DPRK by the group of rat-like Lee Myung Bak and thus escalate the tensions on the Korean Peninsula and ignite a new war at any cost.

The U.S. warlike forces plan to seize the Korean Peninsula as a base of strategic importance and bridgehead as they attach great significance to implementing the world domination strategy.

The U.S. has thus persistently pursued the hostile policy toward the DPRK, policy of a war.

The U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK has been pursued so persistent and vicious as to incriminate the sovereign nation's legitimate right to satellite launch granted by the UN Charter and to wage saber-rattling under that pretext.

The U.S. anti-DPRK military racket has created such a grave situation on the Korean Peninsula that a total war may break out there any moment.

The U.S. is deliberately leading the situation to an extreme phase.

It is mistaken if it thinks it can attain its purpose by doing so.

The U.S. would be well advised to clearly face up to the reality and behave with discretion.
