New Popular Dances Created
Pyongyang, May 7 (KCNA) -- New popular dances have been created the people in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

People learning the dances are seen everywhere in the country.

The new dances are made up of kicking, clapping and shoulder moving and slow or quick waltz. They are danced to the tune of folk songs and such current popular songs as "My Wife" and "At a Go". Their movements are highly vibrant and cheerful, with their rhythms easily understandable.

The new dances can be danced in any spots without making a circle.

Kim Hye Yong, a worker at the Pyongyang Daily Necessities Factory, told KCNA that the dances' movements are so animated that she is interested in learning them.

"I feel as if I am in the 20s while on the dances," she said.

Yun Sang Hum, a choreographer of the Korean Dance Institute, said he would work hard to popularize the new dances in order to instill optimism in the minds of the local people in their efforts for building a thriving nation.

The dances were created by the Korean Dance Institute under the Phibada Opera Troupe.
