White Chinaware Exhibition in Pyongyang
Pyongyang, May 7 (KCNA) -- An exhibition of white chinaware with cobalt-blue-color-drawings has been opened at the Korean Central History Museum.

According to Song Thae Ho at the research center of the museum, the exhibition consists of three parts -- "Early days of white chinaware derived from traditional ceramic craftsmanship", "Heyday of white chinaware characteristic of drawings and formative arts" and "Korea's white chinaware smelling of national features".

On display at the exhibition are nearly 50 items of porcelains, 14 of which were considered to be national treasures, including "flower, bird-patterned quadrangular-shaped bottle" and "dragon, cloud-patterned jar".

The white chinaware began to come into being in the end of Koryo Dynasty (918-1392) and developed in 15-17th centuries.

The chinaware saw a heyday of development in 18th and 19th centuries, with drawings represented by realistic contents, not mysterious.

Among the exhibits is a distribution chart of chinaware kiln site at that time.

The exhibition will run until the end of May.
