Candlelight Meeting Held in S. Korea against American Beef Import
Pyongyang, May 6 (KCNA) -- Members of media trade union and people from all walks of life in south Korea held a candlelight meeting in Seoul on May 3 in demand of a stop to American beef import.

Speakers at the meeting said that they launched the action just as south Koreans did in 2008 because the "government" is set to ceaselessly import American beef in breach of its promise to halt at once the import of such beef in case of the occurrence of mad cow disease in the U.S.

The authorities claim they dispatched a survey team to the U.S. to confirm the occurrence of the above-said disease in the U.S., but that is nothing but an artifice to fool people and waste taxes, they said, and went on:

The issue of mad cow disease is not a simple matter related to the import of American beef but one concentrically reflecting all the crimes the regime has committed by deceiving and fleecing the people.

If Lee is allowed to stay in power, he will let all people sacrifice their lives as he wrested power to earn money, his forte.

South Koreans will surely punish the present authorities and block the import of beef infected with mad cow disease.

The participants in the meeting expressed their will to continue their candlelight action by the concerted efforts of the people from all walks of life.
