State Commendations to Creators, Employees and Officials of Mansudae Art Studio

| Pyongyang, May 4 (KCNA) -- State commendations went to creators, employees and officials of the Mansudae Art Studio who made distinguished feats in creating works portraying images of the great persons of Mt. Paektu. They have made great contributions to encouraging the service personnel and people to dynamically turn out in accomplishing the revolutionary cause of Juche and in effecting a great surge in production and construction. It is a great auspicious event that people of the DPRK erected statues of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il on Mansu Hill to hand down through all generations the revolutionary careers of the peerlessly great men and their undying exploits, and demonstrated the dignity of the country and the nation all over the world. They built the statues at the highest level in hundred-odd days by waging a sacred drive to realize the cause of the Workers' Party of Korea for perpetuating the memory of the leaders. Hong Chang Ui, U Ung Ho and five others received the title of Labor Hero of the DPRK together with gold medal (hammer and sickle) and the Order of National Flag First Class, and four people Kim Jong Il Prize and six people Kim Jong Il Youth Honor Prize. The title of People's Artist went to 8, title of Merited Artist to 29, title of Merited Technician to 7, title of Merited Driver to one, title of Merited Printer to one, Order of National Flag First Class to 45, Order of Labor to 60, Order of National Flag Second Class to 150, Order of National Flag Third Class to 230 and Medal of Merit to 300. A decree of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly on the commendations was released on Thursday. |
