Japanese Politicians' Visit to Yasukuni Shrine Slammed
Pyongyang, May 4 (KCNA) -- Some days ago, roughly 80 members of the "Association of Dietmen for Visiting Yasukuni Shrine" of Japan made a group visit to the shrine to be followed by a similar visit by leading officials of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan.

Rodong Sinmun Friday in a bylined commentary condemned the visits by the Japanese politicians as a reckless act to call back the departed soul of militarism.

The supra-partisan Dietmen of Japan and senior party officials once again prayed for the souls of those who were executed, judged by history. This is a mockery of justice and human conscience and grave challenge to them.

Every year the Japanese reactionaries pay group visits to the shrine on the defeat day of the Japanese imperialists, big religious events in spring and autumn and other important occasions.

They seek to make the visit a regular and popular one and a state-sponsored ceremony in an attempt to consolidate the ideological ground of militarism.

The act of fanning up militarism and tampering with history as evidenced by the visit by the Japanese reactionaries serves as initial manure for instilling militarist idea into the rising generations in Japan.

Not a few young Japanese are lionizing as patriots and heroes the A-class war criminals who were sentenced to death, thinking that they sacrificed their lives to defend Japan from the Western powers' invasion of Asia and making up their minds to fight as they did.

Slogan "Let's fight like a man on battlefield and be buried in the Yasukuni Shrine" shouted here and there during the Japanese Imperial period, are still being heard after decades.

Japan's reinvasion of Asia is now becoming a reality.

The ultra-right politicians' reckless act will cause more serious disaster to Japan.
