Seminar on Kim Jong Il's Idea on Sports Held in Pyongyang
Pyongyang, May 3 (KCNA) -- A seminar on leader Kim Jong Il's Juche-oriented idea on sports took place at the People's Palace of Culture on Thursday.

Kim Jong Il advanced the idea of displaying speed, high technique and strong fighting spirit with ideological awareness in sports education, training and games.

Delivered at the seminar were instructions given by Kim Jong Il on the idea.

Kim Pyong Sik, vice-minister of Physical Culture and Sports, Mun Jae Dok, president of the Academy of Sports Science, and other speakers said the sports idea set forth by Kim Jong Il most correctly reflects the actual conditions in which the drive to build a sports power is progressing apace on the basis of the indomitable mental power of Kim Il Sung's nation and ideological and moral traits, temper and special physical characteristics of the Korean sportspersons.

They underscored the need for officials in the field of sports and players and coaches to give free rein to Korean-style rules and methods in every match to make positive contributions to building a renowned football power and a sports power.

Present at the seminar were Minister of Physical Culture and Sports Pak Myong Chol, officials in the field of sports and coaches and researchers.
