Korean People Celebrate May Day
Pyongyang, May 1 (KCNA) -- People in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea celebrate May Day, an international holiday of the working people.

An endless stream of visitors climb Mansu Hill in Pyongyang where statues of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il stand, carrying flowers in their hands.

Seen in every street across the country are national flags and placards displayed to celebrate the holiday.

Factories and enterprises, including the Sangwon Cement Complex, and organizations and all families are enjoying the holiday with sports and cultural events and amusement games.

Picturesque Moran Hill, Mt. Taesong and Rungna Islet in Pyongyang, Waudo Pleasure Park in Nampho, Songdowon Pleasure Park in Wonsan and other scenic spots and parks of the country are crowded with holidaymakers.

Paek Kwang Ho, head of a workteam at the Pyongyang 326 Electric Wire Factory, told KCNA:

"I am here in Pothonggang Pleasure Park with my family and friends to spend this happy holiday. We are going to have a recreation gathering after lunch.

The happier we are, the deeper our thanks for the peerlessly great persons, who provided this good social system, are growing.

I'll work harder to build a thriving nation so as to repay their benefits."
