Jumunjin Naval Battle, Unprecedented in War History
Pyongyang, April 30 (KCNA) -- Some days ago, the dear respected Kim Jong Un made an inspection tour of a naval unit of the Korean People's Army.

During the tour, he praised the unit for its feats in sinking U.S. heavy cruiser "Baltimore" with only four torpedo boats in a naval battle off Jumunjin during the Fatherland Liberation War (June 1950-July 1953).

The naval battle took place in July 1950.

At that time, the second torpedo-boat flotilla was given an order to contain U.S. warships likely to intrude into the sea off Jumunjin, when the KPA troops were overpowering the enemies on the ground, thanks to the illustrious command of President Kim Il Sung.

The U.S. warships included a heavy cruiser, a light cruiser, destroyer and other battle vessels.

But, the torpedo boats dashed towards the enemy's warships under the shower of shells and bullets.

Torpedoes hit the heavy cruiser, a flagship, sinking it, and attacked other vessels.

Thus, the battle ended in the victory for the KPA.
