"The work calls for giving priority to science and technology, timely applying sci-tech achievements in production and establishing the habit of scientifically solving all economic bottlenecks, thereby putting the nation's economic development on a scientific basis.

Now we are making field researches at the February 8 Vinalon Complex to help solve sci-tech problems.

In the spirit of exploration and creation displayed by workers in Ryonha who brought about drastic progress in CNC machine tools production, we will make a big contribution to putting the country's overall technological equipment on a higher level."

Noting that scientists and technicians have a big role to play in turning the nation into a knowledge-based economic power, Ra Un Gyong, a researcher at the Branch Academy of Light Industrial Science, said:

"I will regard leader Kim Jong Il's teachings 'Look out at the world with one's feet planted on one's own land' as my lifelong motto and make more inventions conducive to developing the nation's light industry."
