S. Korean Authorities Accused of Encroaching upon People's Interests
Pyongyang, April 30 (KCNA) -- The south Korean newspaper Hangyore carried an editorial on April 25 condemning the "government" authorities for encroaching upon the interests of the people.

The editorial accused the U.S. government of announcing that it would continue beef export though a cow infected with mad cow disease was found in the U.S. recently.

Intolerable is the U.S. attitude of seeking its interests only regardless of others, the editorial said.

The sale of American beef that was halted at department stores and other places of south Korea indicates the seriousness of the development, it noted, accusing the "government" of not taking any measure.

This casts skepticism as to whether it prioritizes people's health or the U.S. interests, it deplored.

The candlelight actions against the import of American beef that swept across south Korea in 2008 were attributable to the present regime's irresponsible attitude of shelving the issue of people's health, it noted, stressing:

The "government" should never forget this.
