Reception Given by Iranian Ambassador
Pyongyang, April 30 (KCNA) -- Morteza Moradian, Iranian ambassador to the DPRK, hosted a reception at his embassy on Monday on the occasion of the centenary of the birth of President Kim Il Sung.

Present there on invitation were Choe Thae Bok, chairman of the Supreme People's Assembly, Pak Ui Chun, foreign minister of the DPRK, Jong Yong Su, minister of Labor, Kim Jong Suk, chairwoman of the DPRK Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries, and officials concerned.

Staff members of the Iranian embassy were present there.

The Iranian ambassador said at the reception that HE President Kim Il Sung clearly indicated the road of the country's liberation and development and prosperity and wisely led the revolutionary struggle of the popular masses.

It was under the wise leadership of the President that the Korean people could achieve progress and prosperity, foiling the threat and blackmail of the hostile forces and their sanctions, he noted, and continued:

The Islamic Republic of Iran will continue to support the Korean people in their struggle to protect the sovereignty of the country and the gains of the revolution and achieve its reunification.

Choe Thae Bok in his speech said Iranian friends' celebration of the Day of the Sun, the great national holiday, together with the Korean people constitutes a manifestation of the deepest reverence for President Kim Il Sung and strong encouragement to the Korean people in their struggle for building a thriving socialist nation.

He expressed firm support and solidarity for the Iranian government and people in their struggle to resolutely oppose and reject any form of sanctions and moves of military threats and blackmails by the hostile forces and to defend the right to nuclear activities for peaceful purpose.

The immortal exploits performed by Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il for the development of the friendly relations between the DPRK and Iran and accomplishment of the human cause of independence will last forever.
