Abbas: No Peace with Israel before Prisoners Freed

Pyongyang, April 30 (KCNA) -- The Palestinian National Authority will not sign any peace deal with Israel before the latter releases all Palestinian prisoners, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said in a statement Friday.

Abbas emphasized the release of prisoners who were arrested before Israel and Palestine Liberation Organization signed the Oslo peace accord in 1993.

His remarks came as the Palestinians staged demonstrations in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank in solidarity with hundreds of detainees who went on a hunger strike, some of whom for more than a month.
