Stop to Import of American Beef Infected with Mad Cow Disease Urged in S. Korea

Pyongyang, April 28 (KCNA) -- Mad cow disease broke out in the U.S. again recently prompting people in south Korea to demand the "government" authorities stop at once the import of American beef, according to KBS and MBC of south Korea on April 26.

The opposition Democratic United Party and Unified Progressive Party accused the Lee Myung Bak "government" of not taking any step, while waiting for results of investigation in the U.S. as an onlooker to it.

The Korean Cow Society of south Korea said in a statement that there is again apprehension about mad cow disease, urging the authorities to take strong measures including a halt to the beef import.
