Monument to Generalissimo Kim Il Sung Street in Phnom Penh Re-erected
Pyongyang, April 26 (KCNA) -- The re-erected monument to Generalissimo Kim Il Sung Street in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, was unveiled with due ceremony on April 12.

Present there were officials of the Phnom Penh City Council, the city office and the district where there is the street and citizens.

Present there on invitation were the DPRK ambassador to Cambodia and his embassy officials, DPRK officials working in Cambodia.

A floral basket in the name of the Phnom Penh City Council was laid before the monument.

Map Sarin, chairman of the Phnom Penh City Council, said that the citizens of the city are greatly pleased with the successful re-erection of the monument to Generalissimo Kim Il Sung Street to mark the centenary of his birth.

He went on:

The President maintained close friendly relations with Great King Norodom Sihanouk for a long period and extended full support and encouragement to the Cambodian people in their struggle.

The great King, always remembering the loving care shown by Generalissimo Kim Il Sung, made sure that a street in Phnom Penh was named after Generalissimo Kim Il Sung.

This street is symbolic of the traditional and special friendship between Cambodia and the DPRK.

We will make efforts to spruce up the street in the future.
