World Congress on Juche Idea Held Splendidly in Pyongyang
| Pyongyang, April 24 (KCNA) -- The World Congress on the Juche Idea took place splendidly in Pyongyang to celebrate the centenary of the birth of President Kim Il Sung (April 15), the Day of the Sun.
Attending it were delegations and delegates from an estimated 60 countries.
The congress praised Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il, who founded and developed in depth the Juche idea, and described the idea as a beacon of hope showing the road ahead of the world progressives.
An opening address was made at the congress by Vishwanath, secretary general of the International Kim Il Sung Prize Council and director-general of the International Institute of the Juche Idea.
The Juche idea is shining with the august names of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism is the great idea, the acme of human ideologies in history, he stressed.
Speakers at the congress proved that the Juche idea has served as a widely accepted guiding idea representing the whole history of humankind.
They expressed the belief that the popular masses would win in the struggle to build an independent, new world under the banner of the Juche idea.
A Pyongyang declaration of the World Congress on the Juche Idea was adopted.
The congress adopted a letter to the dear respected Kim Jong Un. In the letter its participants expressed the determination to keep Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism as their unshakable faith and conduct the study and dissemination of it in a more extensive and profound way.
The letter stressed that it is great fortune not only of the Korean people but also of the world progressives to have Kim Jong Un as the supreme leader of the DPRK.
The participants in the congress presented commemorative stones to the Tower of the Juche Idea.
They also attended colorful celebrations of the Day of the Sun.
During their stay in Pyongyang, they visited the Taedonggang Combined Fruit Farm and Hana Music Information Center.
Merited foreign personages were awarded DPRK orders, medals and academic degrees.
