Korean Center Opens in Russia
Pyongyang, April 19 (KCNA) -- The Korean Center was open in Khabarovsk, Russia on the occasion of the birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung.

Displayed at the center were works of the President and General Secretary Kim Jong Il, publications introducing Songun Korea and fine art works associated with the resourcefulness and talents of the Korean people.

An opening ceremony took place on April 13.

Present there were the minister of Culture of the Government of Khabarovsk Territory, the chairman of the Friendship Association with Foreign Countries of Khabarovsk Territory and other figures and people, the deputy consul general and consuls of the DPRK in Khabarovsk.

Prior to the opening ceremony, a floral basket in the name of the ministry of Culture of the Government of Khabarovsk Territory was laid before portraits of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.

Speeches were made there.

The minister of Culture said that the opening of the Korean center made it possible for the Russian people to know better about the DPRK.

The center will positively contribute to boosting the friendly cultural relations and cooperation between Russia and the DPRK, the minister added.
