Banquet Given for Overseas Koreans
Pyongyang, April 16 (KCNA) -- A banquet was given for overseas Korean compatriots at the People's Palace of Culture on Monday to mark the centenary of the birth of President Kim Il Sung.

Present there on invitation were the delegation of the Korean-residents in Japan commemorating the centenary of the birth of the President led by Nam Sung U, vice-chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), the delegation of the General Association of Koreans in China led by its Chairwoman Choe Un Bok, and other compatriots' delegations and overseas compatriots staying in the socialist homeland.

Present there were Kim Yang Gon, secretary of the C.C., WPK, Kim Jin Guk, director of the Bureau of Service for Overseas Compatriots, and officials concerned.

Kim Yang Gon in his speech said the President liberated the country and built a socialist power centered on popular masses on this land and worked heart and soul for the national reunification.

He expressed belief that the compatriots would make dynamic efforts for the prosperity of the homeland and the national reunification under the leadership of the dear respected Kim Jong Un.

Nam Sung U said in his speech noted that the President and General Secretary Kim Jong Il showed great loving care for overseas Koreans.

He underlined the need to remain loyal to the leadership of Kim Jong Un and further strengthen the overseas compatriots' organizations including Chongryon, the patriotic heritage of the great persons of Mt. Paektu.

At the banquet the overseas Koreans vowed to struggle for the prosperity and reunification of the country under the leadership of Kim Jong Un true to the behests of the peerlessly great persons.
