Korean Fine Art Exhibition Opens in China
Pyongyang, April 15 (KCNA) -- A fine art exhibition of the DPRK was opened with due ceremony in Beijing on April 13 to celebrate the centenary of the birth of President Kim Il Sung.

On display in the venue of the exhibition were art works on the immortal revolutionary careers, exploits and noble traits of Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il and paintings truthfully depicting the building of a thriving socialist nation by the army and people of the DPRK and their happy life.

Zhang Aiping, deputy department director of the Ministry of Culture, said in a speech at the opening ceremony that the cultural exchange between the two countries has a long history, adding that the cultural exchange and cooperation have played a positive role in boosting the friendship between the two peoples as an important part of the traditional Sino-DPRK friendly relations.

Zhang renewed the resolution to steadily expand cooperation in the field of culture and thus boost the Sino-DPRK friendly relations provided and cultivated by the leaders of elder generations.

He expressed hope that the exhibition would help towards deepening and promoting the understanding and friendship between the peoples of China and the DPRK and giving spurs to the steady development of socialist cultural construction in the two countries.
