Kim Il Sung's Life Woven with Songs
Pyongyang, April 14 (KCNA) -- Nowadays, the songs President Kim Il Sung loved to sing in his lifetime are heard or aired at theatres and cinemas and on TV of the DPRK in commemoration of the centenary of his birth.

Listening to those songs, the Korean people recollect his brilliant career as a great revolutionary.

Kim Il Sung grew up to be a revolutionary, listening to "A Lullaby" sung by his mother and singing "Song of Devotion" and "Song of Advance" taught by his father.

When he crossed the River Amnok at the age of 14, he made his mind not to return home unless he won the independence of Korea, singing "Song of the River Amnok."

In the 1920s, he composed "Song of Korea", which calls for struggle to liberate the beautiful country from the Japanese aggressors.

Composing and singing patriotic and appealing songs, the President hardened his confidence in sure victory of the revolution, led the wars against the two imperialisms, Japanese and U.S., to victory and provided the Korean people with a happy life and rosy future.

Typical of the songs are "Song of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army", "Nostalgia", "Song of Anti-Japanese War", "Song of the Ten-Point Programme of the Association for the Restoration of the Fatherland", "May, Month of Victory", "Song of Plowing", "We Are the Happiest in the World", "Ballad of Phyongbuk Nyongbyon" and "A Bumper Harvest in the Chongsan Plain".
