Health Dishes, Drinks Presented to Food Festival
Pyongyang, April 12 (KCNA) -- More than 1,300 kinds of food and beverages were displayed at the 17th April Holiday Food Festival held at the People's Palace of Culture in the DPRK.

Particularly drawing visitors' attention were health dishes and drinks. Among them are ginger and pine-nut gruels, steamed hare meat with chestnut, hot mullet broth and broiled eel, dishes made of such edible herbs as aralia shoots, wild onion, pickpurse and anise, an apricot stone tea and drinks made of fruit of Crataegus pinnatifida, which are good for health and refreshment.

Those dishes and drinks have a special virtue for curing influenza, chronic gastritis, diabetes and respiratory disease while invigorating and refreshing one's body and mind.

They also prevent arteriosclerosis, hypertension and cerebral thrombosis, strengthen the heart and promote metabolism.

Those health dishes and drinks were presented by restaurants under the Changgwang Public Service Management Bureau.
