Pyongyang, April 12 (KCNA) -- The Korean stamp exhibition was opened in Beijing on April 10 to celebrate the centenary of the birth of President Kim Il Sung.

It was cosponsored by Chinese stamp-related organisations and the Korean National Stamp Publishing Bureau.

On display there were commemorative stamps on the centenary of the birth of the President and the 70th birth anniversary of Kim Jong Il and more than 1 000 kinds of stamps reflecting the achievements made by the Korean people in socialist construction and national reunification, the time-honored history and cultural tradition of Korea and the DPRK-China friendship.

Present at the opening ceremony were a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, philatelists and Pak Myong Ho, charge d'affaires a.i., and staff members of the DPRK embassy in Beijing.

A symposium on Korean stamps took place on the same day.
