Int'l Festival to Be Held in Pyongyang
Pyongyang, April 9 (KCNA) -- An international festival will take place in Pyongyang to mark President Kim Il Sung's 100th birth anniversary (April 15).

An official of the DPRK preparatory committee for the festival, Choe Jong Hun, told KCNA in this regard:

The festival is to be held from April 11 to 16. Attending it will be some 350 people from 60 odd countries, including representatives of the international preparatory committee, regional and national preparatory committees, those who were received by President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il, or their descendants, dignitaries and members of organizations for friendship and solidarity with the Korean people and international organizations.

The festival will cover colorful events -- visit to Kim Il Sung's old home in Mangyongdae, a memorial tree planting, visit to Kim Jong Il's native home in the Paektusan secret camp, an international joint celebration meeting, etc.

Every possible convenience will be provided to the arrivals on a high level.

Prizes and diplomas have been prepared for a book exhibition, an art works exhibition and an international prize contest for literary and art works.

The festival will be greatly conducive to significantly marking the anniversary.
