Tree Planting Gains Momentum in DPRK
Pyongyang, April 9 (KCNA) -- A tree-planting drive is gaining momentum in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in the spring season.

The capital city of Pyongyang presses ahead with forestation, under a plan to plant Changsong Korea larch and pine-nut trees in 1,000 hectares of hills and mountains in the period.

Mangyongdae and Sunan districts are working to build forests mixed with broadleaf and needle-leaf trees.

Pothonggang and Tongdaewon districts have planted a variety of trees of good species in streets and pleasure grounds.

North Phyongan Province is paying efforts to increasing the rate of rooting by transplanting sample trees in time.

South Hamgyong Province has already planted hundreds of thousands of trees along railways extending more than 150 kilometers.

South Hwanghae Province has worked hard to forest its mountains.

Yangdok County is taking the lead in afforestation in South Phyongan Province.
