Young People Meet to Remember Kim Il Sung
Pyongyang, April 6 (KCNA) -- A meeting of school youth and children themed "The dear Generalissimo Kim Il Sung is our eternal sun" took place before his statue at Changdok School in Pyongyang on Friday as part of festivities timed for the 100th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung.

The participants laid floral baskets, bouquets and flowers before the statue before making a bow in humble reverence.

The meeting began with poem and chorus "Generalissimo Is Our Sun". The performers recalled the past days when Kim Il Sung made great devotions to the younger generation regarding its education as a key issue on which the country's future hinges.

Principal of the school Kang Jun Ho told the touching story that Kim Il Sung made sure that good educational conditions were provided for children after the country's liberation and pencil issue was discussed as the first agenda of the Provisional People's Committee of North Korea.

Speakers included Ri Myong Sun, and Ri Kyong Dae, official of Kim Chaek University of Technology, who had the honor of being received and blessed by Kim Il Sung in the early days of their lives. Calling back on those days they praised the President for his noble trait.

Kim Kwang Suk, coach of the Pyongyang Sports Team, and Han Song Il, teacher of Pyongyang University of Fine Arts, said the President let the sprouts of talents of children blossom. They recalled how the President put them forward, sharing pleasure with them when they won medals in international matches.

Jon Hye Yong, teacher of the Mangyongdae Schoolchildren's Palace, said how she pleased him with her good songs. The audience was convinced that thanks to the warm sunrays all children across the country blossom, displaying their talents.

With the sentiment of thanks and admiration for Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il pervading the meeting hall, songs "We Are the Happiest in the World" and "Our Father" reverberated.
