Probe into Illegal Investigation into Civilians Demanded in S. Korea
Pyongyang, April 6 (KCNA) -- More than 270 civic and social organizations of south Korea including the Citizen's Solidarity for Democratic Society held a press conference in Seoul on April 3 at which they issued a declaration on the situation calling for probe into the truth about the illegal investigation into civilians and punishment of its prime mover.

The declaration urged Lee Myung Bak to probe the truth about the illegal investigation and make an apology to the people.

This case is not a simple abuse of power but a hideous case in which such officials as those of Chongwadae, the office of the "Prime Minister", prosecution and lawmakers from the ruling party are all involved in a bid to conduct an indiscriminate investigation into people from all walks of life and destroy its evidence, it said.

Recalling that the Lee "government" is resorting to mean acts to gloss over the above-said case, the declaration stressed the people would not pardon it.

On the same day, civic and social organizations decided to launch emergency actions against illegal investigation and declared they would intensify actions through candlelight meetings denouncing the authorities' criminal moves.
