National Taekwon-do Festival Opens
Pyongyang, April 6 (KCNA) -- A national Taekwon-do festival opened with due ceremony at the Taekwon-Do Hall on Friday on the occasion of the birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung, the Day of the Sun.

Ace Taekwon-doists from across the country will compete in various events such as men's and women's individual pattern and sparring matches.

An opening address was made by Kim Kyong Ho, chairman of the Korean Taekwon-Do Committee.

Then Taekwon-do demonstrations were given by instructors and players.

Meanwhile, paduk (go) and Korean wrestling events of the above-said festival took place in Wonsan and Sariwon from March 28 to April 6.

Men players of the Pyongyang City Taekwon-Do Team and women players of Korea University of Physical Education came first in the group of paduk players, boy players of Pyongyang and girl players of North Hamgyong Province in the group of kindergarteners and Kangwon Province in the group of elders.

Pyongyang won the title of Korean wrestling event in Sariwon.
