National Sci-tech Festival to Be Held in DPRK
Pyongyang, April 4 (KCNA) -- A national scientific and technological festival is to be opened at the Three-Revolution Exhibition between late April and early May to commemorate the centenary of the birth of President Kim Il Sung.

It will be sponsored by the Central Committee of the General Federation of Science and Technology of Korea.

The festival will be participated in by scientific research and education institutions, industrial establishments, co-op farms and other units as well as scientists, technicians, teachers, workers, farmers, members of Three-Revolution teams and officials.

They will hear papers introducing sci-tech achievements and experience highly appreciated at local festivals.

The festival will also involve group and individual public presentations of sci-tech achievements and lectures on latest science and technology, services for intellectual interchange, different kinds of technological services for ultra-modern products and display competition.

Its participants will have an opportunity to swap sci-tech achievements and experience gained in production and technological updating in the vanguard sectors of the national economy and the fields of basic industry, light industry and agriculture.

During the festival, there will be a national review of competitions in technical innovations among the April 15 Technical Innovation Shock Brigades for Winning Silk Banners commemorating the centenary of the birth of Kim Il Sung.
