Snow Hits Korea in April
Pyongyang, April 3 (KCNA) -- Abnormal weather has been witnessed in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea on Monday and Tuesday.

Snow hit most areas of the country, Kangwon, South Hamgyong, Jagang and Ryanggang provinces in particular, according to the weather data from 03:00 Monday to 15:00 Tuesday.

There were 16~24 centimeters of snowfall in those areas. In terms of precipitation, 48, 47 and 42 millimeters were registered respectively in Kosong, Kosan and Thongchon counties of Kangwon Province, 45 and 43 millimeters in Paechon and Pongchon counties of South Hwanghae Province and 41 millimeters in Thosan County of North Hwanghae Province.

A weather expert told KCNA that more than 10 millimeters of snow mixed with rain fell in Pyongyang, Phyongsong and Chongjin cities and other areas of the country. Heavy snowfall was reported on east coastal areas, rare to be seen in this season.

The snowfall was accompanied with wind 16m per second, causing tidal waves on the east and west coasts of the country.

Such abnormal weather is adversely affecting agriculture in the country.
