Academic Degrees, Titles Awarded to Intellectuals
Pyongyang, April 3 (KCNA) -- State academic degrees and titles were conferred on intellectuals who have performed scientific and technological achievements on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of President Kim Il Sung.

An awarding ceremony took place at the People's Palace of Culture on Tuesday.

The title of candidate academician was awarded to Kim Su Gon, teacher at Kim Il Sung University, Paek Nong I, room chief of Kim Chaek University of Technology, Hwang Ji Chol, first deputy-director of Pyongyang Kim Won Gyun Conservatory, Mun Song Ryop, researcher of the Academy of Social Sciences, and Ri Ung Ho, researcher of the Pyongyang Horticulture Guidance Bureau.

Professorship went to Pak Won Thae, department head of Pyongyang Medical College of Kim Il Sung University, Ri Ui Gu, vice-president of the State Academy of Sciences, and others.

Doctor's degree was conferred upon Kim Gyun, first vice-president of Kim Il Sung University, Kim Yun Sik, vice department head of Kim Il Sung Higher Party School, Ri Su Chol and Kim Yong Ryong, room chiefs of Kim Chaek University of Technology, and others.

The title of associate professor went to 67 intellectuals.
