BRICS to Play Constructive Role in World Economic Growth
Pyongyang, April 1 (KCNA) -- BRICS held its fourth summit in New Delhi on March 29.

The summit discussed win-win cooperation, reform of international financial institutions, improvement of international economic management and world peace and security, etc.

A communique adopted at the summit said that BRICS countries are playing a pivotal role in world economic recovery thanks to such collective efforts as boosting of cooperation and economic relations despite cultural and geographical barriers. This made it possible for those countries to play a role as a driving force for world economic growth and occupy a leading position in the changing world structure, it noted.

The summit delivered a message of hope to the world that the world economy will eventually make steady headway by common efforts of the developing countries centered by BRICS, foreign press reports said.

The agreements signed adopted at the summits positively promoted cooperation and economic development among BRICS member countries and raised their role in the international arena.

The five-nation BRICS is leading the world economic growth coping with financial crisis.

According to a survey, BRICS's quota in the world economic growth takes 56 percent whereas Western countries' barely takes 9 percent.

Hence, the participants of this summit unanimously stressed the need for reforms of international financial institutions and called for establishing a new development bank with south-south cooperation as its key mission as a measure against the World Bank.

Analysts say as BRICS will play an increasing role as a major force protecting the interests of the developing countries, the world structure will change to give spurs to multi-polarization.
